Description
- Undertakes financial feasibility analysis, evaluations or business projects and advises on the optimization of resources and profitability of projects. Analyses financial information to determine present and future financial performance. Evaluates profit plans, operating records, and financial statements. Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies
Duties
- Engages cross functionally with relevant stakeholders on strategic plans and coinciding budgets
- Research best practices and current innovations in strategy planning and implementation
- Performs and communicates the significance of a cost volume- profit and sensitivity analysis in relation to operational and strategic goals, including maximum value extraction from raw materials (quota and sourced)
- Analyses cost data using established and cutting-edge costing systems and methods. Selects the appropriate costing system (methods such as activity-based costing, process costing, joint cost allocation, departmental costing, and job costing) under a particular set of circumstances
- Review the monthly BLR reports with accurate and valid commentary on company performance
- Responsible for the application of capital budgeting, NPV, IRR, buy versus lease
- Applies Strategic Cost Management techniques and methods to manage costs across the organization. Leads and supports the financial planning, analysis and budgeting process for high investment projects of up to 1 year
- Assesses the relative merits of investment options based on investment type
- Provides research and input on alliance and reorganization activities
Requisites
- Degree in Management Accounting or Financial Accounting
- Minimum 5 years or more relevant Management or Financial Accounting experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of the trade business environment & customers needs and aims (Added Advantage)
- Understanding or Knowledge of the competitor SWOT Analysis (Added Advantage)
