NAMFISA is recruiting a Financial Analyst Conduct and Compliance, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Assist in the implementation of the Acts under NAMFISA’s jurisdiction in order to ensure regulated financial institutions are financially sound by monitoring the financial performance and ensure they are operationally sound by monitoring their Governance Risk and Compliance practices
  • The job further ensures timely and accurate collection of data from institutions regulated under the relevant Acts to ensure effective functioning of these institutions as well as to evaluate and review adherence of industry to current legislation, regulations, procedures and policies

  • THE POSITION REPORTS TO SENIOR FINANCIAL ANAYLST
Duties
  • Risk assessment Inspections - On-site visits Inspections Off-site supervision (Analysis of returns, Annual Financial Statements (AFS and Compliance Reports)
  • Data management (Statistical update, data capturing, general administration, financial returns, financial information)
  • Compliance Enforcement (penalties, fines, assess compliance)
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Regulatory and supervisory framework Maintenance a) Research
  • Amendments of regulatory instruments (Acts, regulations etc.)
  • Categorization of entities in terms of Supervisory Ladder of Intervention on Quarterly basis
  • Innovation
  • Personal Development
Requisites
  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • B degree in Accounting / Economics/ Finance / Risk Management
  • Relevant certifications (i.e.. CFA, CFI, CAIA) will be an added advantage
  • 3 years’ experience in the Financial Industry
  • Experience in Financial Analysis / Risk and Management / Internal Audit will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of:
  • Knowledge of NAMFISA’s mission, objectives, functions, processes, and systems
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Up to date with the industry trends and legislative environment
  • Understanding and interpretation of laws
  • Industry business knowledge and understanding
  • Risk assessment knowledge and understanding
  • Accounting and auditing practices and principles
  • Economic environment
  • Analytical tools and methods
  • Financial Reports Analysis and Interpretation
