Finance Manager

Description

• The position of Finance Manager is vacant at Erongo Marine Enterprise Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of the Oceana Group, operating in the Namibian Horse Mackerel industry. The position is based at the Erongo Marine offices in Walvis Bay, and reports directly to the Erongo Marine Financial Director
• The purpose of this role is to oversee the end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, make improvements to procedures and controls, take lead on ad-hoc projects, provide business partnering support as well as oversee compliance to all statutory compliances and good accounting practices

Duties

• Manage finance team members through providing guidance and training
• Maintaining financial policies and systems and ensuring compliance thereof, including implementation and monitoring of internal controls
• Maintaining and reviewing the finance modules of the ERP (example AR, CR, FA etc)
• Coordinating the submission of the annual budgets, forecasting and ad-hoc feasibility studies
• Ensure finance team completes monthly/quarterly deliverables in line with Group deadlines
• Review and approve monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Coordinates the preparation of the external audit materials
• Responsible for the preparation and reviewing of the Annual Financial Statements
• Directing internal audits on reviewing accounting and administrative controls
• Preparing and reviewing financial reports for monthly management meetings
• Developing and maintaining key financial dashboards and variance analysis reports
• Review the Preparation of annual insurance declarations
• Actively managing the working capital targets and requirements
• Prepare and review Board reports
• Reviewing weekly cash flow forecasts, as well as evaluating and investigating variances
• Reviewing forward cover requirements for foreign purchase contracts and ensuring that adequate cover is in place in line with Group Forex Policy
• Preparing annual tax return schedules and tax calculations
• Reviewing and approving the statutory statutory/government returns (example Ministry of Fisheries, Bank of Namibia Submissions, etc.)
• Understanding and ensuring adherence to financial regulations and legislation
• Payroll: checking and approving weekly and monthly (both for local staff & expatriates)

Requisites

• Namibian citizen
• A degree in Accounting with Completed Articles
• CA (NAM, SA), CIMA or equivalent will be an added advantage
• Eight (8) years’ related experience of which 4-5 years as a Finance Manager and leading a team
• Experience and knowledge in FMCG will be an advantage
• Advanced technical accounting and tax knowledge
• Good business acumen
• Up to date with IFRS knowledge and Tax Law
• Computer literacy in MS Office with Excel to advanced levels
• Knowledge of ERP systems
