Nedbank is recruiting for an Internal Vacancy: Area Manager: Central, Coast and South (NB10) Reporting to - Executive Retail and Business Banking, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To build, lead and manage the Nedbank Central, Coastal and Southern operations from an administrative and sales point of view. To build capacity and to grow market share across consumer and business segments in order to ensure that all operations are profitable, that a legendary customer service culture is instilled, that the workforce are motivated and multi-skilled, and that Nedbank is perceived as an employer of choice
Duties
- Key Responsibilities:
- Achievement of the financial performance targets of the Central, Coastal and Southern regions
- Responsible for increase in market share across consumer and business segments
- Relationship custodian of key clients and stakeholders in the region
- Opening of branches and agencies as per the strategic plan and ensure profitable operations
- Responsible for capacity building (Branch network management)
- Leverage of the relationship to increase profitable business for the Bank
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures to protect the Bank’s assets, staff and clients
- Ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements
- Attract, retain, develop and reward best talent
- Create a high performance environment
- Establish a culture of exceptional service to clients
- Abilities & Requirements:
- Product and Regulatory knowledge
- Analytical ability, leadership, and Negotiations skills
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Aligning performance for success
- Developing and building a successful team, good coaching skills, and ability to delegate responsibilities
- Branch operational decision-making abilities
- Fully conversant with local banking conditions
- Must have a high degree of self-confidence, a pleasant personality and must be a self-starter
- Extensive and sound experience in all aspects of sales and banking
- Ability to work under pressure, team oriented and a flexible approach
- Customer service driven and results orientated
- Good problem solving, planning and decision-making skills
- A sound credit background linked with superior interpersonal and marketing skills
- Business writing skills
- Governance, Risk and audit controls
Requisites
- Grade 12 (25 points)
- B.Com degree or equivalent
- Senior Leadership Development Programme or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years banking experience of which 5 years should have been in a managerial capacity
- Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Sound experience in all aspects of Sales, Branch
- Administration and Banking in general
- Understanding of banking environment (products, processes, systems and mechanism)
- Must be customer service oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have a high degree of self-confidence, be able to work independently and must be a self-starter
