Roads Authority is recruiting an Engineering Manager: Maintenance, to be based in Keetmanshoop, Namibia.
Description
- Responsible for managing the resources for tactical implementation of planning, design, tendering, contract management and master plan compliance within a region
- Business Unit: Engineering
- Division: Network Maintenance

Duties
- Management of an engineering maintenance area within the region
- Management of human resources and technical team of area within the region
- Control of the region budget
- Management of project planning and designs derived from the maintenance strategy and preparation of tender documents
- Management of contract management process i.e. Contracts administration and site supervision
- Coordination of the implementation roads ordinance strategy, roads and ribbon development act and improvement of road safety
Requisites
- Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering preferably a Bachelor of Science (BSc in Civil Engineering) at NQF Level 7
- Registration as Professional Engineer or Incorporated Engineer with Engineering Council of Namibia of at least 2 years
- However, any recognised relevant engineering council may be considered
- 8 years working experience in road maintenance and construction of which 3 years should be at D-lower management level
- Code B driving Licence
- Competencies/Skills:
- Knowledge of road maintenance
- Knowledge of project management
- Knowledge of the relevant road legislations
- Knowledge of structural calculation and design of culverts and bridges
- Design and planning abilities
- Prioritizing skills
- Report writing skills
- Sound interpersonal skills
