Engineering Manager: Maintenance

Description

• Responsible for managing the resources for tactical implementation of planning, design, tendering, contract management and master plan compliance within a region
• Business Unit: Engineering
• Division: Network Maintenance

Duties

• Management of an engineering maintenance area within the region
• Management of human resources and technical team of area within the region
• Control of the region budget
• Management of project planning and designs derived from the maintenance strategy and preparation of tender documents
• Management of contract management process i.e. Contracts administration and site supervision
• Coordination of the implementation roads ordinance strategy, roads and ribbon development act and improvement of road safety

Requisites

• Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering preferably a Bachelor of Science (BSc in Civil Engineering) at NQF Level 7
• Registration as Professional Engineer or Incorporated Engineer with Engineering Council of Namibia of at least 2 years
• However, any recognised relevant engineering council may be considered
• 8 years working experience in road maintenance and construction of which 3 years should be at D-lower management level
• Code B driving Licence
• Competencies/Skills:
• Knowledge of road maintenance
• Knowledge of project management
• Knowledge of the relevant road legislations
• Knowledge of structural calculation and design of culverts and bridges
• Design and planning abilities
• Prioritizing skills
• Report writing skills
• Sound interpersonal skills
