Rössing Uranium is recruiting an Engineer Process Control, to be based in Arandis, Namibia.
Description
  • A vacancy exists for Engineer Process Control within the Information System and Technology Department
  • Reporting to the Specialist Innovation and Engineering Technology
  • The primary purpose of this role is to provide functional solutions, fulfil quality requirements and ensure that quality systems and procedures are adhered to as documented
Duties
  • Maintaining Health, Safety & Environmental standards
  • Execute the process control strategy and plans by - maintaining and update process control optimization applications
  • Maintaining Distributed Control System (DCS) Hardware; Controllers, I/O and Infrastructure
  • Evaluate system hardware and maintenance requirements
  • Provide input and assistance to Specialist: Innovation & Engineering Technology to keep process control standards up to date that are beneficial to
  • the business from the most suitable technical solutions to allow optimal availability and ensure safety standards are maintained
  • Provide input and assistance to maintenance teams and or Specialist Innovation and Engineering Technology by identify alternative process control options by using technical expertise
  • Maintain and ensure integrity and availability of FTE Network
  • Maintain Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) graphical displays for the control strategy according to Abnormal System Management (ASM) standards
  • Conduct continuous analysis and risk identification of systems to ensure continuous improvement on technological choices
  • Consult with operations, maintenance, management staff and system vendors to determine existing / future control needs and implementation of solutions
  • Provides input for capital expenditure projects
  • Monitors expenditure monthly and reviews on a quarterly basis
  • Identify and initiate business improvements initiatives
  • Execute the process control strategy and keeping abreast with latest technological advancements
Requisites
  • Grade 12 certificate
  • A recognized bachelor’s degree on (NQF Level 7/8) (BSc or BTech) in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • OR
  • A recognized National Diploma (NQF Level 6) Process Control, Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering,
  • Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Degree Holders: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in process control plant environment working on Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Control Networks, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Instrumentation. Proficiency with process control system programming
  • Diploma Holders: A minimum of ten (7) years working experience in process control plant environment working on Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Control Networks, Human
  • Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Instrumentation. Proficiency with process control system programming
  • Experience with Honeywell Experion and SAP will be an added advantage
  • A valid Code B Driver’s Licence
  • A Police certificate of conduct not older than six months is required
  • A record will not automatically disqualify candidates
