Electrician (m/f)

Duties

• The incumbents will report to the Electrical Supervisor and be accountable for:
• Ensure adherence to all Legal, Health, Safety and Environment standards and policies
• Lead by example through compliance with the company purpose and values
• Provide maintenance support services to supervisors and managers to ensure implementation of MMMP through efficient and effective completion of all maintenance work to agreed guidelines, procedures and the optimal utilization of resources
• Carry out electrical maintenance work according to Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb Service Management process (planned or emergency) workflow
• Improving equipment availability and efficiency through quality maintenance
• Troubleshoot equipment failure and make recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future
• Communicate with supervisor and/or other artisans when needed and inform them when the work is completed
• Proactively identify potential equipment failures and request proactive corrective actions
• The Electrician(s) will be required from time to time to work after hours, weekends, Sundays, and public holidays
• The Electrician(s) will be working shifts and standbys, as working conditions may dictate

Requisites

• Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 23 points
• Level 3 Trade Certificate in Electrical
• N3 Certificate or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 year’s relevant post-trade test work experience is required
• Must have 11kV switching certificate from relevant bodies or NamPower
• Maintenance related experience in a heavy process industry, mining, or steel
• Experience in working on Overhead Cranes and Hoists is an added advantage
• Working knowledge of the following: VSDs, SIMOCODE, Soft Starters, PLCs, Profibus networks and interfacing of plant systems to the DCS, will be a distinct advantage
• Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, MAXIMO is an added advantage
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Code B Driver’s License
