The Hollard is recruiting a Data Analyst: Reporting (DAR) (m/f), to be based Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Create and deliver monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting for multiple business functions using SQL, Excel and Power BI
- Create and deliver ad-hoc reporting needed to understand various aspects of the business
- Automate and implement process improvements to increase efficiencies and effectiveness in reporting
- Analyze trends and data relating to the insurance value chain, from new business and underwriting, to sales and distribution channels, policy administration, servicing, billing and collection
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested by business
- Work with multiple business functions and systems to resolve data discrepancies
Requisites
- Matric (25 points or more)
- Risk Management/Management Information Systems/Business Degree or Diploma
- At least 1-3 years related experience in an analytical environment
- Proficient in MS Office, VBA is advantageous
- Knowledge of Scripting language, e.g., Python; relational databases: SQL and NoSQL,
- Database administration would be advantage
- Ability to relay complex concepts; storytelling skills; translate data-driven insights into decisions and actions; knowledge of other visualization tools, e.g., PowerBI is advantageous
- Knowledge of the Insurance industry will be advantageous
- Passionate about the business; curious about data; problem solver; strategic, proactive, creative, innovative and collaborative
- The ability to work independently
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be agile to business requests
