Nedbank is recruiting a Credit Manager: NAR, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To recommend and/ or grant credit to place quality assets on to the book and continued risk management across Nedbank
Duties
- Day-to-day management and monitoring of various SME credit portfolios
- Ensure compliance with credit administration functions in line with the Standard Operating Procedure and Credit Policy of the Bank
- Understanding of the Sales environment and customer segment to provide support in terms of the Business Unit strategy
- Validate and assess client information presented in Credit applications to determine serviceability of facilities applied for
- Ensuring that policies and standard operating procedures are adhered to
- Analyzing of the loan applications and make sound credit decision within mandate and adding sound motivation for presentation to higher mandated level in need
- Recommend funding solutions based on the credit policies and guidelines in conjunction with relevant Nedbank strategy and the analysis based on the information provided
- Identify problem exposures and classification in accordance with the Bank of Namibia’s guidelines
- Build and maintain effective working relationships by providing a range of specialized credit risk management advisory services
- Providing correct reports and statistics/data to senior management
- Providing input for formulation of policies and procedures within the framework of sound credit management
- Keeping abreast with changes in the micro and macro-economic, political, legislative, and social environment in order to provide proper lending advice
Requisites
- Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
- Preferred Qualification:
- An applicable Business, Accounting or Economics Degree
- Essential Certifications:
- Chartered Accountant Masters in Business Administration CFA CIMA
- Minimum Experience Level:
- The applicant must have at least 5 years credit experience in a banking environment of which 3 years must be with a lending mandate
- Understanding of retail and SME banking together with experience in lending into this segment
- The applicant must demonstrate knowledge of standard credit principles, financial statements, and the interpretation thereof
- Knowledge of accounting standards and Basel II requirements
- The applicant must be knowledgeable and experience in the provisions of the Reserve Bank policies and Rules
- The applicant must have strong knowledge of legal matters and practices within the context of the Namibian environment
