Controller: Distribution (m/f)

Duties

• Reporting to the Manager: Fleet and Distribution, the incumbent will be required to:
• Directly supervise and coordinate activities of transportation and material-moving truck drivers and assistant drivers, as well as to provide clerical services that expedite and maintain work orders and support fleet services staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency and excellent customer service
• Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation and operations goals
• Plan and establish transportation routes
• Prepare, compile, and submit reports on work activities, operations, and work-related accidents
• Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new workers or assign training tasks to experienced workers
• Dispatch personnel and vehicles in response to telephone or mail reports of emergencies
• Examine, measure, or weigh stock to determine specific handling requirements
• Analyze delivery address, determine appropriate routes and schedule
• Work with support team to provide exceptional customer services and address customer concerns
• To provide a high standard of customer service at all times

Requisites

• The successful candidate must have:
• Grade 12 with at least four years of experience
• Valid driving license
• Must be able to properly communicate in English
• Be prepared to work odd hours, public holidays and overtime when required
• Be prepared to work shifts
• Must be of sober character with a good track record
• Must have a disciplined approach
