Debmarine Namibia is recruiting a Communications Officer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Debmarine Namibia requires the services of a Communications Officer
  • The successful incumbent will provide financial administrative and clerical support to the communication section in order to assist the overall administrative efficiency of the section and the overall positive image of the company internally and externally
Duties
  • Creating content as per the communications plan
  • Drafting and editing relevant business communication correspondence
  • Preparing, organising and storing information in paper and digital
  • Designing, creating, and developing creative material for business communications
  • Gathering and researching information and data
  • Collecting and capturing content and data for social performance reporting and other Communication related areas
  • Distributing approved company notifications/messages, on relevant platforms
  • Creation of SAP and framework requisitions, seeing through such requisition to payment
  • Following up on invoice processing, releases, and timeous payments for services rendered
  • Coordinating invoice signatures and payment approvals, and feedback to vendors
  • Maintaining engagements in respect of above, with the Supply Chain and Finance teams
  • Initiating, drafting, and editing of business correspondence
  • Receiving and greeting visitors, responding to walk-in queries within defined limits, and publication support (newspapers, etc.)
  • Initiating and coordinating the logistical arrangements of meetings and events
  • Taking minutes at relevant engagement meetings, with a summary of actions
  • Scrutinising items for signature for conformance to policies, grammar and company standards and applicability
  • Dealing with general calls and enquiries, receiving and resolving general enquiries by screening, prioritising, and redirecting to the relevant
  • Communications team member where applicable
Requisites
  • National Certificate in Communications or Public Relations
  • Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
  • Driver’s License
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Competencies:
  • English Language Skills, including written English
  • Communication Skills
  • Administrative skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Handle confidential matters
  • Planning and organising skills
