Business Risk Specialist

Description

• To drive the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework for Hollard Namibia. This is a risk and control governance role where the incumbent will be responsible for oversight and reporting of operational risks for Hollard and its Partners. Operational responsibilities will include identifying business risks, prioritization of risks and or gaps identified, supporting business in the remediation/implementation phases, facilitation of risk and control self-assessments and providing a monthly risk report to CFO and Group Risk

Duties

• Key Performance Areas of the Role:
• Driving the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework with the relevant key stakeholders
• Planning, coordinating, and directing risk assessment and risk prioritization efforts in collaboration with the Internal audit, business and Group risk
• Administration and maintenance of a risk management governance to enable formalization of the Hollard risk universe
• Development and embedment of appropriate key risk Indicators to support relevant risk monitoring and management activities
• Drive the identification of departmental and partner specific risk exposures that require focussed or thematic risk management interventions
• Assess the adequacy of the risk mitigation initiatives identified by the relevant management team
• Developing and maintaining effective relationships with Stakeholders
• Active participation in relevant department meetings or forums highlighting potential and materialized risks
• The design and documentation of value adding risk report
• Researching and continuously seeking ways to do things better and providing guidance to management and partners on leading Risk Management best practices

Requisites

• B. Com (degree)
• Auditing & risk management background
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Risk Management (and/or Operational Risk Management) in Financial Services industry
