Namib Mills is recruiting an Assistant (Laboratory), to be based in Otavi, Namibia.
Description
- To execute and maintain the Quality Control related functions of the ISO Quality Management System and to implement system changes
- To ensure product quality conformance to requirements over the full spectrum of activities, namely raw materials, finished and packed products
Duties
- Quality Control:
- Responsible for in-process as well as finished products Quality tests on Maize, Mahangu and instant porridge
- Conducts accurate quality test on raw materials, on-line products, end-products, and non-conforming products
- Accurately documents results
- To verify the vitamin addition and antioxidant into maize and chop
- Complete relevant quality control documentation
- Communicate any quality deviations to Superiors and Management
- Maintenance of Quality Control Equipment:
- Being responsible for housekeeping in the Lab on the equipment
- Maintain and control the quality records as per company standards
- General:
- Assist with fumigation
- Responsible for hygiene and pest control in designated areas
- Performs ad hoc tasks or projects on quality issues as requested by management
Requisites
- Experience & Qualifications:
- Relevant Certificate with 1-year relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience of HACCP and ISO is a pre-requisite
- OR:
- Grade 12 (NQF4) with 3 years relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience of HACCP and ISO is a pre-requisite
- Other:
- Namibian citizen
- Computer literacy with working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
- Proficiency in English
- Skills and Competencies:
- Thinking skills, analyzing problems, and thinking strategically
- Interpersonal skills, being a team player and resolving conflict
- Communication Skills, communicating progress orally
