Agra is recruiting an Accountant: Debtors, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The successful incumbent will be based at Corporate Office
Duties
- Management of Journal Entries: Supervising, reviewing, and generating monthly reports for all transaction-related journal entries
- Credit Control Oversight: Leading the credit control function, from account opening to ensuring adherence to company policies on ageing, through to account handovers and subsequent follow-ups and reporting
- Accuracy in Debtors Transactions: Ensuring accurate capture of debtors' transactions and timely reconciliation of open items
- Meeting Reporting Deadlines: Ensuring timely submission of weekly and monthly reports
- General Ledger Reconciliations: Conducting reconciliations for debtor accounts, including provisions for bad debts, within the general ledger
- Debtor Account Reconciliation: Managing the reconciliation process for debtor accounts, interest calculations, and the printing of debtor statements
- Debtor Query Resolution: Resolving enquiries from debtors regarding transactions and interest charges
- Team Management and Development: Effective management and development of a team of 6 employees, ensuring their efficiency and growth within the role
- This includes responsibility for staff performance evaluations, training, and mentoring
- Annual Provisions in accordance with IFRS9: Taking charge of annual provisions, ensuring compliance with IFRS9 standards and accurate accounting for bad debts
- Supporting Operations and Ensuring External Customer Satisfaction: Collaborating closely with operations teams to provide support in debtor-related matters, thereby contributing to smooth business operations
- Ensuring external customer satisfaction by maintaining transparent communication, addressing customer concerns promptly, and striving for accuracy and efficiency in debtor transactions
Requisites
- Namibian citizenship
- A tertiary qualification (B.Com or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration)
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
- Must have experience in people management
- Proficiency in English
- Computer Literacy (Sage X3 & MS Office with specific regard to Excel)
