Capricorn is recruiting a Corporate Finance Associate (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, the individual will play a key role in building financial models, preparing valuations and transaction marketing material as well as investor packs for clients. Further to this, the role incumbent will provide guidance to analysts, whilst assisting with the development and implementation of new financial business models as well as support with the conceptualization and implementation of various corporate actions and business development solutions
Duties
- Assist with a broad spectrum of transactions, including M&A, listings, disposals/carve-outs, leveraged buyouts and restructuring transactions as well as services such as valuations and due diligence
- Development of marketing material for Capricorn Corporate Finance and transaction-related marketing material for clients
- Preparation of pitchbooks for existing or potential clients
- Preparation of financial models:
- Preparation of various valuation methods including, inter alia, discounted free cash flow models to firm and to equity, dividend discount models, excess returns models, market and transaction multiples approaches
- Undertaking market, industry, or company specific research and evaluations
- Assisting with the development of compelling sector-specific ideas/value propositions and proposals that will improve the success of the marketing plan or pitchbooks
- Being personally responsible for multiple facets of multiple deals that will lead to value creation for shareholders and stakeholders in the private and public client arenas
- Demonstrated ability or aptitude to manage a team through a transaction process or deliverable from inception to completion
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and clients and building meaningful relationships
- Under the guidance of the Head of Corporate Finance, perform the first review of work prepared by analysts and provide input and feedback to analysts that inspires growth and performance
- Demonstration of ability to originate external client mandates will be beneficial for a career path
- Ability to interact eloquently and effectively in a client-facing/front-office role, predominantly with the CEO’s/MDs, CFO’s and CIOs of both listed and private corporations
- Responsible for managing own transactions within a one-year period
Requisites
- Two to four years relevant experience in an investment bank, boutique or big four accounting firm
- Advanced knowledge of financial modelling and valuations
- Possess a high level of integrity, high attention to detail and the ability to build long term commercial relationships
- Strong command of English (both spoken and written) and the ability to articulate ideas, concepts and feedback well
- Ability to work well within a team, provide direction and guidance to analysts and effectively manage competing project timelines and deadlines
- Ability to perform well and at full capacity in a remote working environment
- CA qualification as a minimum
- CFA, MBA or similar qualification will be advantageous
