FNB Namibia is recruiting a Funding Dealer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To use excess liquidity and shortages to engage in money market trading activities in domestic market to maximize profits and ensure liquidity
Duties
- Funding & Liquidity Execution:
- Execute money market transactions (e.g., placements, borrowings, repos) in line with funding and liquidity forecasts
- Ensure optimal funding of nostro accounts and timely execution of all funding requirements
- Participate in interbank dealings (lending and borrowing) to manage liquidity efficiently and maintain market competitiveness
- Support the optimization of short-term cash flows to maximize return and minimize liquidity risk
- Monitor real-time cash flows (intra-day liquidity) and take appropriate actions to maintain liquidity buffers
- Manage and optimise high-quality liquid asset (HQLA) portfolio within risk parameters and regulatory constraints
- Process flow optimisation and continuous innovation to ensure seamless funding and liquidity management process
- Risk & Compliance Management:
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory limits
- Execute deals in line with the bank’s liquidity and funding strategies while mitigating operational risks
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all trades and settlements
- Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, corporate treasuries, and other liquidity providers
- Provide accurate market pricing insights and competitor analysis to support decision-making
- Contribute to daily and monthly liquidity management reports
Requisites
- Minimum Requirements:
- A Degree in Finance, Economics, Investments, or a related field
- ACI Dealing Certificate will be an advantage
- 3 years banking experience, with exposure to money markets, trading, or treasury operations being advantageous. Knowledge of interbank markets, cash management, and short-term funding instruments
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and settlement systems will be added advantage
- Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in execution
- Some experience in Treasury Dealing experience and proven ability to prepare research reports and valuations is essential
