Agra is recruiting an Executive Manager: Properties, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The successful incumbent will be based at Corporate Office
Duties
- Aligns the property strategy to Agra’s overall strategy
- Formulates, obtains approval, implements, and evaluates the property strategy and all related projects
- Achieves planned returns on assets and an increase in property derived net income
- Needs to have business acumen, understand Return on Investment (ROI), and be knowledgeable about the property industry and benchmarks
- This includes conducting feasibility studies, writing proposals for property-related projects, and presenting findings in a professional and convincing manner to the Exco and Board of Directors
- Present projects to Management, EXCO, Board of Directors and third parties in such a manner that an informed decision as to viability may be made
- Ensures effective and efficient contract/contractors management (e.g. overseas drafting of Bill of quantities, tender evaluation, contractors’ selection, monitoring, payment and contract completion)
- Formulates, obtains approval, manages and monitors the property budget
- Assists management with the selection of suitable properties for expansion/ and or organisational transformations
- Ensures effective and efficient debtors management within the properties division
- Ensures effective and efficient operations (e.g. administration) within the properties division
- Actively participates in the Agra executive team
- Contributes to synergistic effects with other Agra divisions and departments
- Ensures effective maintenance of the integrated property planning and management information system
- Ensures that all property related aspects comply with legal and health and safety requirements
- Ensures effective and efficient people management (proper recruitment, performance management, discipline and orderly exit) and development (e.g. succession planning, training and development) within the property division
- Negotiates lease agreements in-line with Agra’s strategy
- Ensures adequate marketing and occupation rate of Agra’s rental properties
- Attends to, and ensures adequate customer satisfaction for Agra occupied properties, as well as for external tenants
- Networks and liaises with relevant industry organisations
Requisites
- Qualifications & Attributes:
- Namibian citizenship
- A relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
- A business-related postgraduate qualification would serve as an advantage
- Related coursework that could prove helpful includes, project management, real estate/ property management and/ or finance
- Experience in the construction/property development industry would be a distinct advantage
- Minimum 8 years of management experience with 5 years spent in a leadership position
- Sound financial understanding
- Practical knowledge of the technical aspects of property management (property planning, project management, information systems, building plans and maintenance)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Computer literate (MS Office; Asset Management Information system; Enterprise Resource Planning system)
- A valid driver’s license
