Bank Windhoek is recruiting a Remuneration & Rewards Specialist - Human Capital, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Support the overall remuneration and rewards strategy for the Group by providing specialist advice, expertise, coordination and analytical support for broad reward practices, processes and systems
- Responsible for the administration, implementation and monitoring of remuneration, reporting on related employee cost, job grade and policies and procedures in support of the overall Group remuneration philosophy
Duties
- Remuneration Management:
- Assist the Manager to co-develop a clear remuneration philosophy, guiding principles, the reward policy according to which informal remuneration and benefit decisions can be made
- Perform clear remuneration and benefits benchmarking and report to Manager on both market and internal trends that will ensure fairness, market competitiveness and support the achievement of business objectives
- Research trends in remuneration and identify creative and innovative remuneration structures to assist with the development and implementation of retention schemes to contribute to the Capricorn Group attracting, engaging and retaining high performing employees
- Analyse global market trends and identify/anticipate future business benefits and remuneration needs
- Analyse remuneration structures to identify parity issues as well as areas for improvement and propose appropriate solutions
- Analyse market data and make recommendations on salary scales, market positioning, pay structuring etc., to ensure internal parity and market competitiveness
- Provides guidance to HR Business Partners on reward issues such as differentiated benefits and remuneration approaches
- Consult directly with HC Business Partners/Recruitment when requested by business to help manage complex design or implement issues related to remuneration
- Responsible for remuneration offer process by engaging HC and Group Business Partners and Recruitment Team
- Assist the Manager with the annual remuneration review process, performance bonuses and promotions
- Assist management and specialist staff in restructuring of their remuneration packages after increases and or promotions
- Prepare survey data spreadsheets as required by survey house for annual salary surveys, submit information timeously
- Projects and Continuous Improvement
- Initiate and drive ad hoc compensation projects and data audits to ensure compliance in all compensation and procedures
- Conduct relevant annual market surveys and reports on market trends
- Conduct ad hoc remuneration and benefit benchmarking/surveys as may be required
- Conduct periodic audits in respect of remuneration changes, e.g., Cost to Company report against Payroll Processing
- Do groundwork for Union negotiations, conducting research and submit to Manager
- Maintain an understanding of industry trends and best practices and reporting
- Make recommendations to Manager
- Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance employee experience re remuneration and reward in consultation with the Manager
- Risk Management:
- Assist Manager to evaluate and compare the market relatedness of all offers (total cost)
- Make proactive recommendations
- Assist in Coordinating and govern the process of job grading to ensure consistency
- Manage compliance to all relevant compensation regulations
- Ensure remuneration are competitively packaged and aligned to the Group Reward Philosophy
- Assist with Remuneration and Reward related training and implementation of new interventions so that staff members have an improved understanding
- Keep complete records and keep confidential
- Reports:
- Provide assistance to Manager by conducting research for all reporting to the Board
Requisites
- Experience/Knowledge & Skills:
- At least 5 years’ experience in remuneration and reward with a strong financial background
- Prior experience in human resources, compensation, or benefits administration is preferred
- Familiarity with labor laws, regulations, and best practices related to compensation and benefits
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point software application
- Detail-oriented (especially regarding effectively managing and documenting employee organizational developmental issues and investigations)
- Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience, needed to effectively deliver a variety of HR-related training programs to groups of managers/colleagues
- Exceptional written and verbal skills, including ability to effectively communicate with managers and colleagues at all levels within the organisation
- Knowledge of Human Resources systems
- Experience with financial/analytical modelling
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights
- Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Remuneration & Reward Management, or related field
