Swakop Uranium is recruiting a Senior Engineer: Planning, to be based in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Description
  • To produce long-term, medium-term production plans and related planning documents, reports and strategies to ensure the optimal depletion of the Swakop Uranium (SU) mineral resources, which support the achievement of the Company’s strategic business goals and objectives
Duties
  • Organize and facilitate regular planning sessions between mining and processing departments to ensure alignment of objectives and schedules
  • Create comprehensive operational plans that integrate mining and processing schedules, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and production targets are met
  • Track the implementation of operational plans, identify deviations, and collaborate with relevant teams to make necessary adjustments
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of integrated plans and propose improvements based on performance data and feedback from operations Prepare detailed internal reports on operational performance, including production metrics, resource utilization, and project progress.
  • Compile and submit required external reports to regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and other relevant entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards
  • Participate in the formulation of company strategies or project plan by providing insights and action recommendations based on operational data and industry trends
  • Define clear performance targets, including business, operation, or research project and key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the end-user-departments in line with the company’s strategic goals
  • Monitor progress towards strategic objectives, regularly review performance against KPIs, and report on achievements and areas needing attention
  • Regularly interact with stakeholders across the company to gather input, provide updates on planning activities, and ensure everyone is informed about operational plans and any changes
Requisites
  • Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering/Metallurgy Engineering with 5 years’ work experience
  • Experience in operational planning and performance analysis within a mining or processing plant environment
  • Mining / Processing plant environment experience will be a distinct advantage
  • Exposure to multi-national, ethnic and cultural environment
  • Certification in project management or risk management will be an added advantage
  • Code B or BE Driver’s License
