DBN is recruiting a Lead Ecosystems and Value Chain Development, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • The role is responsible for leading the Bank’s strategic development and growth targets by unlocking new ecosystems and value chains, coordinating key initiatives to mobilize support from existing and new stakeholders (private sector and international development partners) and spearheading internal innovation projects
  • The Lead will focus on creating opportunities for DBN that are aligned to inclusive development, gender lens investing and the green economy
  • PATERSON GRADE D2
Duties
  • Strategic Management:
  • Develop and implement initiatives to support unlocking Catalytic Funding
  • Provide timely and effective advice on gender-related matters within the bank, ensuring policies and practices are inclusive
  • Assess and make recommendations to funding frameworks that enable both genders to have equal access to DBN’s funds and services
  • Monitoring Gender Action Plan (GAP) implementation at Project level to identify challenges and update the action plan
  • Implement appropriate change management initiatives to effectively embed innovation
  • Operational Management: 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to initiate projects that support ecosystems and value chains development
  • Co-ordinate DBN’s participation as a leading partner in national networks of development agencies
  • Leverage on partnerships to plan and implement collaboration projects that fast-track DBNs development agenda
  • Provide input to the Research and Product Development Unit on new product innovations
  • Conduct training, coaching and mentoring opportunities and awareness related to innovation and ecosystems development
  • Provide quarterly progress reports on training, coaching and mentoring interventions implemented
  • People Management:
  • Lead and coach the team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Set performance standards/ key performance indicators for the team and track daily and/or accordance with the annual performance reviews
Requisites
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in development economics, Development Studies, Development Finance, Business Management or similar (NQF level 7, from an NQA recognized tertiary institution)
  • Innovation-related and/or project management certification will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience of which 3 years should be at supervisory level in the field(s) of: ecosystem and value chain development, innovation (eco)systems building, business development, strategy development, corporate responsibility, gender mainstreaming and the green economy
  • A high level of decisiveness and collaboration
  • Interpersonal sensitivity and the ability to build strong work-related relationships
  • Business acumen and strategic thinking ability
  • The ability to motivate others, delegate, manage and control and to employ cultural intelligence
