Namib Mills is recruiting a Storeman (Workshop & Maintenance), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To supervise the Workshop staff members and to control operations process according to pre-determined procedures and standards
Duties
- In conjunction with Operations Manager plan and co-ordinate the efficient execution of all maintenance tasks
- Hand out and monitor/manage job cards to artisans/handymen and provide feedback to Operations Manager: Production on progress made
- Attend to grievances and maintain high levels of discipline to ensure a high level of productivity
- Manage housekeeping in all areas of responsibilities
- Ensure productivity of Artisans, Handymen and Assistants at all times by controlling time spend on jobs
- Adhere to work instructions and in conjunction with Operational Manager, do risk analysis
- Do maintenance as per requirements determined via computerized maintenance system
- Timeous completion of reports
- Ensure efficiencies are adhered to
- Ensure accurate and timeous completion of timesheet/clocking
- Perform correct fault finding
- Make sure repairs are carried out according to specifications/processes
- Test equipment before handover to process owners
- Execute projects/tasks on an Ad hoc basis as needed
- Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental Policies as laid down by law and the company
- Always wear proper and clean PPE as prescribed by the company
- Manage safety related incidents and report to the Operations Manager
- Determine needs, course of action (planning)
- Responsible for the bi-annual evaluations of all workshop staff
- Performing of additional tasks as and when required and performing it to best of availability and according to company standards and procedures
- Manage and control the timeous attendance to call-outs by Artisans
- Provide continuous appropriate in-house training to Artisans, Handymen and assistants
Requisites
- Grade 12 (NQF4) OR National Vocational Certificate (Level 3)
- Minimum of 3 years trade experience in a related field or plant
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Namibian Citizen
- Computer literate with good knowledge on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts and public holidays
- Valid Driver’s license
