Rössing Uranium is recruiting a Protection Officer, to be based in Arandis, Namibia.
Description
- A vacancy exists for a role of FTC : Protection Officer within Protection Service Division. Reporting to the Protection Controller
- The primary function is to be responsible for Fire, Rescue, Medical and Security Operational Duties
- To be responsible for the overall protection of company assets, and administration tasks related to Security record keeping
- To monitor people behaviour patterns that could pose as a security risk via Surveillance equipment
- To assist and respond to Fire Prevention and Emergency situations mine wide
Duties
- Adhering to and comply with all Safety regulations
- Assist with Safety Inspections /Audits
- Controlling access and exit of personnel, contractors, visitors, good and vehicles on or off site by enforcing procedures and guidelines set out in the Standard Instructions
- Ensuring efficient, effective, and professional Guarding of Mine Assets and people (access & exit control)
- Operating CCTV equipment as per standard operating procedures
- Recording and reports any irregularities /non-compliance to Standard Instructions/procedures
- Assisting with Medical or Trauma Emergency on and off site
- Operating all emergency vehicles and on-board equipment
- Schedulling checks on emergency vehicles and equipment and report all faults to the Protection Controller
- Patrolling and monitoring FPR area and conduct the administrative tasks relating to the patrolling and monitoring the area
- Sealing samples leaving recovery area for the lab and record accordingly as well as carry out administrative tasks
- Preparing of Medical and Fire standby during Ammonia offloading
- Ensuring security seals on Uranium drums and records accordingly
Requisites
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and English with 20 points
- Security/Surveillance Monitoring in a mining/industrial environment three (3) years
- OR
- Experience in a Medical Environment three (3) years
- OR
- Experience in Fire Prevention three (3) years
- OR
- Relevant Security, Fire or Emergency Internal three (3) years
- Code C License (C1/C1E/CE added advantage Driver’s License
- A Police certificate of conduct not older than six months is required. A record will not automatically disqualify candidates.
