Rössing Uranium is recruiting a FTC Superintendent Mobile Equipment, to be based in Arandis, Namibia.
Description
- An exciting opportunity exists for a Superintendent Mobile Equipment Maintenance on a fixed term contract in the Mining Asset Management department, reporting to the Manager Mining Asset Management
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, organising and controlling maintenance of the Haultrucks and Support Equipment to ensure that engineering standards are achieved in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner as per the annually approved mine plan and in accordance to statutory requirements and RUL
Duties
- Maintaining HSE standards
- Supervising and ensuring that all subordinates complete their tasks according to set plans, defining clear priorities to ensuring production continuity
- Ensuring that all maintenance/replacements are in line with the Mine’s production plan
- Designing, and redesigning equipment, machinery, tooling, and processes to ensure meeting customer requirements
- Ensuring effective maintenance of equipment that ensures meeting set availability targets
- Monitoring implementation of corrective measures through an audit process and proposing further remedial steps where necessary
- Recommending alternative measures to continuously reduce costs of maintenance
- Recommending improvements to processes and discussing these with other foremen involved in the process
Requisites
- Skills:
- Engineering review, decision making & analysis
- Engineering Design and Analysis - Identifies, develops, and analyzes engineering designs and/or specifications; plans and modifies methods
- Program/Project Management: Ability to coordinate and administer projects within their area of responsibility)
- High level of technical knowledge of mining production equipment to be able to implement maintenance systems
- Good computer skills especially AutoCAD, Excel, Microsoft Office, MS Projects, and SAP
- Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus a recognized B Sc/B Engineering degree or B Tech degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronic engineering (NQF level 7/8); OR A recognized National Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic engineering (NQF Level 6)
- For a candidate with a bachelor’s degree: Minimum five (5) years working experience as an Engineer or on an equivalent level role in mining asset management/HME maintenance environment of which three (3) years should have been in a supervisory/leadership position
- For a candidate with a National Diploma: Minimum ten (10) years working experience as an Engineer or on an equivalent level role in mining asset management/HME maintenance environment of which five (5) years should have been in a supervisory/leadership position
- Registration as a Professional or Incorporated Engineer would be an added advantage
- SAP system training and Asset Management and maintenance principles and practices is an added advantage; valid code B driver’s licence
