FNB Namibia is recruiting a Collections Lead, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • To define, develop and oversee the end-to-end collections function within an area of responsibility, drive the collections strategy and maintain synergies with all the relevant stakeholders across the Group to enable higher collection yields and reduction in impairments
Duties
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the business unit strategy
  • Analyse a portfolio and ensure optimal portfolio management of a recoveries book
  • Ensure the reduction of loss to the Group and increase revenue through the active management of stakeholders and the active tracking of performance in the book
  • Meet recovery and collection budget by ensuring execution of budget against target as defined in the Debt Recovery and Collection Strategy for the Bank
  • Deliver a sound Debt Recovery Management culture through awareness of campaigns to influence behaviour and drive the importance of compliance
  • Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME's, project managers and senior staff members by providing market insights and analysis and support business development activities on debt recovery and collections to ensure and develop local partnerships
  • Benchmark current practices against the Debt recovery and collection risk management framework and adjust practices as and when necessary
  • Define recovery budgets and determine the debt recovery and collections strategy in conjunction with all the relevant stakeholders are formulated for the Group
  • Manage stakeholder activities including loading of campaigns, issuing of MIS on all quality assurance duties and work closely with teams to resolve all system related constraints queries
  • Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analyzing trends and data for the debt recovery and collection environment
  • Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives, and relevant industry practices. Ensure drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions and ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Apply credit roadmap and debt restructuring principle
  • Ensure the Benchmark of current practices against the Debt recovery and collection risk management framework are identified and adjust practices as and when necessary are executed as required
  • Ensuring the best possible results are obtained from the Recoveries department through intelligent and strategic management of campaigns and tactics
Requisites
  • Diploma/Degree in Credit or any other Finance related
  • 5 – 7 years Banking experience, including knowledge in Credit and portfolio management and recoveries processs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Middle/Senior management
