Wilderness is recruiting a Quality Assurance Manager, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Reporting directly to the Accountable Manager to whom authority has been granted to ensure that all activities undertaken by Wilderness Air Namibia are carried out in accordance with the Wilderness Air Namibia Operations Manuals in terms of the applicable requirements prescribed by the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority and the Wilderness Air, Air Service licenses.
Duties
- Ensuring that the Quality Assurance Program is properly established, implemented and maintained
- Monitoring compliance with, and the adequacy of, procedures required to ensure safe operational practices and airworthy aeroplanes
- Verifying, by monitoring activity in the fields of flight operations, maintenance, crew training and ground operations, that the standards required by the Authority, and any additional requirements defined by the operator, are being carried out under the supervision of the relevant Nominated Post-holders
- Administering and controlling the Company Operating manuals
- Representing the Company during external audits
Requisites
- Recognized Aviation Quality Management Systems / Quality Assurance Management Certificate inclusive of Aviation Auditing
- 5 years working experience in the aviation industry
- 3 years working experience in any combination of the recognized aviation Post Holder positions
- Exceptional knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations of Namibia
- Broad operational knowledge and experience in the function of the organization including Training management, aircraft operations, air traffic management, aerodrome operations and maintenance organization management
- Experience in tourist charter type operations
- Strong understanding of aviation risk and liability management
- Sound knowledge of quality management principles and practices
- Competencies:
- Good command of English, both written and verbal
- Leadership ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team worker with the ability to interface with a variety of departments
- Computer Literacy
- Candidates will have preference with:
- Acceptable Management Diploma/certificate
- Experience in Aviation Quality Systems
- Experience in multi-national and multi-cultural diversity
- Willingness to serve an active role in tourist and aviation associations with a view to constantly improving the respective industries in spare time
- Preference may be afforded to candidates:
- Holding or have held a Commercial Pilots License (with a C208 rating)
- Holding recognized Safety Management Systems certificate
- Holding Namibian citizenship or a right to live and work in Namibia
