Namib Mills is recruiting an Accountant, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Responsible for the monitoring, checking and handling of control accounts and creditors accounts according to Company policies and procedures as well as the monitoring and administration of the Cashbook and Petty Cash
Duties
  • Debtors and creditors reconciliation for all companies
  • Checking of daily and monthly payments and reviewing of all new vendors opened
  • Ensure all clearing accounts balance at month end for all companies
  • Capturing of monthly VAF interest according to company policy Performing all financial functions up until TB level for the Australian company
  • Reconcile all balance sheet items for the Australian company
  • Liaise with Australian tax provider for all statutory requirements
  • Journals and reconciliations for monthly control accounts
  • Process and load all Australian payments on ANZ bank account
  • Download bank statements and complete bank reconciliations daily Provide telephonic and written communication to bank when queries arise
  • Complete filing during the month
  • Handling and processing of corporate credit and fuel cards according to company procedure
  • Completing journal entries and reconciliations for monthly GL accounts
  • Handling all corporate bank queries
  • Handling and processing of corporate fuel cards according to company procedures
  • Reconciliation and processing of petty cash of the head office and depots
  • Follow up and handling of unallocated expenses regarding creditor payments
  • Performing ad hoc duties as per instruction from your supervisor or management
Requisites
  • Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field
  • OR:
  • Grade 12 (NQF4) with five (5) year's relevant experience
  • Experience in FMCG and manufacturing will be an added advantage
  • Proficient in English, being bilingual will be an added advantage
  • Computer literate with good mastering of Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of the ACCPAC system will be an added advantage
  • Namibian citizen
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends
