Manufacturing Team Leader

Description

• Control and manage overall production operations at Polana Pasta Manufacturers to achieve quality output

Duties

• Ensure staff, materials and equipment are planned and utilised efficiently and cost-effectively and production targets are met
• Ensure performance is measured, monitored and corrective actions are taken where necessary
• Ensure that product adheres to specifications and quality requirements
• Ensure breakdowns and equipment malfunctioning is attended to speedily by production and maintenance staff, assist where necessary
• Stand in for personnel on leave
• Identifying training needs and ensure that training requirements are met
• Conduct plant tours with visitors when necessary
• Handle customer complaints and corrective actions and assist in maintaining the QM and FS systems
• Assist with internal and external audits

Requisites

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) (NQF 7) with 2-3 years relevant experience
• OR:
• Engineering Diploma (NQF6) with 5 years relevant experience
• OR:
• Millwright, Electrician N6 (NQF6) with 5 years relevant experience
• Valid Namibian driver’s License
• Computer literate with a good mastering of Microsoft Office
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Namibian citizen
• Must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends, call outs, overtime and public holidays
• Knowledge of ISO, HACCP and Health and Safety standards will be advantageous
