Manager: Packing (SRP)

Description

• Reporting to the Head: Technical, the incumbent will be required to:

Duties

• Responsible to support the development of the packaging strategy and the operation execution in support of the business goals
• Maintain Product Quality at all times
• Provide adequate supervision for all processes
• Manage and maintain the Quality Systems within the Department
• Work in conjunction with QA Department to ensure that Quality Systems are constantly reviewed and kept up to date
• Promote a “Right First Time” mentality across the site
• Work with support departments such as Maintenance, to ensure lines are set up as per validated settings and that Process Runs are effective and efficient
• Ensure that “Best Practise” work methods are developed and communicated across other shifts
• Responsible for packaging planning and operational execution in line with cost reduction principles, while adhering to stock availability, general service levels and sales volume targets
• Responsible for the daily timeous and accurate administration and processing of production volumes (backflush), packaging materials, bulk products (WIP) as well as all damages and losses
• Stock takes form an integral part of any Packing Operation and you will be required to plan, conduct and support stock takes and in some cases outside normal working hours and on weekends
• Execution of daily, weekly and monthly reporting dashboard including but not limited to, plant capacity utilisation, production to schedule, quality assurance parameters, H&S incidents etc

Requisites

• Qualification and Preferred Traits:
• 8 years relevant experience of which a high level of management and a high level of functional knowhow is required
• A vocational training certificate will be an advantage
• Ability to work in a complex and fast moving environment
• Ability to work under pressure
• Namibian citizen, domiciled or permanent resident
• SAP Material Management experience will be an added advantage
• Computer literate
• Be prepared to work shifts , on public holidays and overtime when required
• Forklift License
