Rössing Uranium is recruiting a Superintendent: Contractor Management & Administration, to be based in Arandis, Namibia.
Description
  • Vacancy exits for a Superintendent Contractor Management & Administration reporting to the Manager Contractor Management & Site Services
  • The successful incumbent will be responsible to delivervalue by managing contractors, Contractor Management Functionality and ensuring total compliance of Contractors to Rossing HSE standards
  • Coordinate the onboarding (mobilisation) and offboarding (demobilisation) of Contractors at Rossing Mine and in towns (Arandis, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay)
Duties
  • Participating in HSE programmes and setting targets where applicable
  • Monitoring compliance of all direct subordinates and contractors to set standards
  • Investigating accidents/incidents and recommending corrective/ remedial measures. Follows up to ensure that these are adhered to and implemented
  • Ensuring that Contractor Leaders comply with their CRM requirements
  • Supervising and ensuring that subordinates complete tasks according to set plans, defines clear priorities to ensure uptime and availability of systems and services
  • Developing / Reviewing the contractor management framework
  • Coordinating and arranging contractor management engagement forums
  • Reviewing all Contractor Management implementation plans and modifies plans where necessary, in conjunction with the relevant management teams
  • Ensuring contractor management system is up to date and improving data integrity on SharePoint and SAP
  • Ensuring adherence to the Contractor Management
  • Conducting impact analysis of potential and proposed system changes
  • Maintaining sound contract management controls for services contract
  • Monitoring the performance of service contract
  • Identifying problems impacting on quality, analyses/evaluates them and providing recommendations on corrective measures in the relevant areas
  • Ensuring operating conditions that minimise consumable costs wherever possible
Requisites
  • Grade 12 Certificate and a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Management/Legal/Finance/Administration/Business
  • OR
  • Rrelevant engineering discipline (B Eng Mechanical, Electrical or Civil) with a Minimum of five (5) years working experience on an Engineer level or equivalent level in Contract and contractor administration and management environment in mining industry of which three (3) years should be in supervisory position capacity.
  • Valid Code BE driver’s Licence.
  • A Police certificate of conduct of not older than six months is required. A record will not automatically disqualify candidates Required competencies and skills:
  • Proven experience in post award contract management
  • Solid proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and SAP)
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary resources and projects in order to deliver complex projects
  • Risk assessment and –management
