FNB Namibia is recruiting a Data Engineer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To ensure effective movement, collection, integration, storage and provisioning of data to meet business objectives through sound understanding of business unit requirements and frequent collaboration with relevant stakeholders (such as Enterprise Architecture, Database and Solution Architects, Business Intelligence Developers, Data Scientists and Product Owners, etc)
Duties
- Develop and maintains scalable data pipelines, build API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity
- Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization
- Defines company data assets (data models), spark, sparkSQL, and hiveSQL jobs to populate data models
- To provide required support within guidance of set processes and procedures to ensure effective movement, collection, integration, storage, and provisioning of data to build solutions and meet business objectives through understanding of business unit requirements and collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Comply with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements and adhere to processes and procedures related to area of specialization
- Manage data and system integration and unit/integration tests, contributes to documentation
- Provide required support in designing and developing systems, and solutions
- Manage acquisition, consumption, and deployment of data for operational use
- Administer database performance tuning, disaster recovery (backup/restore) and information security
Requisites
- Have a degree in BCom Informatics/BSc Computer Science/BSc Engineering Information Technology
- Have 1 to 3 years’ experience in Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) of data from source systems and utilising SQL as a data management language
