Description
- Old Mutual is a leading financial services provider and is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll Manager: Retirement Funds
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely updating of member contributions for our pension fund, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing critical support in the administration of new annuitants and subsequent annuity payments to pensioners
- This role requires taking responsibility for managing a team of retirement fund administrators to ensure daily retirement fund administration operational deliverables within our Corporate Segment. It further requires maintaining and enhancing service/work standards and work quality
Duties
- Member Contributions Management:
- Track receipt of all monthly pension contributions payments and detail member data
- Ensure the accurate and timely updating of the monthly pension contributions to the member records
- Reconcile the monthly pension contributions payment with the monthly pension contributions data received
- Follow-up any outstanding, over or under payments with the employers
- Implement and maintain processes to review, verify and reconcile monthly pension contributions data
- Address discrepancies and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly
- Report Preparation and Submission:
- Prepare comprehensive reports on member contributions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Submit regular reports to the principal officer, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with finance and compliance teams to address any audit-related queries
- Valuation Data Preparation:
- Oversee the preparation of valuation data for the pension fund
- Collaborate with actuaries and financial analysts to ensure accurate and up-to-date valuation information
- Implement processes to streamline valuation data preparation and reporting
- Key Stakeholder Communication:
- Foster effective communication with key stakeholders, including internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external auditors
- Respond to inquiries and provide necessary information to stakeholders regarding member contributions and valuation data
- Administration of Annuitants:
- Manage the administration process for new and existing annuitants, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience and subsequent administration
- Collaborate with intermediaries and other relevant departments to gather and verify necessary information for new and existing annuitants
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of annuity payments to annuitants
- Implement controls to ensure compliance with pension regulations and policies
- Collaborate with finance teams to reconcile annuity payments
- Monthly reporting in respect of KPIs
Requisites
- Namibian Citizenship
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to pension funds
- At least 3 - 5 years' retirement fund industry experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in people management, leading and directing team members in a highly intensive environment
- An assertive self-starter with excellent organizing skills
- Proven ability to pay attention to detail and continue to meet and exceed tough business targets on a consistent basis
- Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining professional
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- A passion for customer service and relationship building
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Excellent conflict handling skills
- Experience and understanding of Group Life Assurance products will be an added advantage
