MVA Fund is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the formulation of the Fund financial philosophy and policies that will support the Fund strategic goals and foster sustainability
Duties
- Provide Strategic Financial advice to the CEO and Executives in line with their respective financial management responsibility and delegated authority
- Lead the corporate budgeting process and ensure Board and Ministerial approvals are obtained as per prevailing legislation
- Initiate the development of policies and procedure manuals to ensure effective management of finance, procurement and information technology units and that the same support institutional strategic goals
- Ensures the Fund is adequately funded and has an appropriate funding model in place whose effectiveness is monitored continuously
- Ensure the Fund has the necessary IT infrastructure and systems for effective business operation
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of periodic financial reports including financial forecasts to the CEO, Management and the Board
- Monitors the Fund investment portfolio and report on its performance
- Strategically engage with internal and external auditors and provide appropriate and timely responses to audit queries and also champion the risk management process
- Ensure effective procurement process, fleet management and property management
- Provide leadership to Unit staff and administer the performance management system for all direct reports
Requisites
- Competencies and Skills Requirements:
- Chartered Accountancy qualification (CA) or MBA with completed articles
- Five (5) years working experience of which three (3) years at a senior management level
- Thorough knowledge of IFRS and relevant legislations: Tax Act, Labor Act, SOEG Act etc
- Proven leadership and financial skills
- Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills
- High degree of integrity and ability to work in a fast paced environment
