RFA is recruiting an ICT Technician, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- To identify and implement technical ICT solutions to all user requirements and provide support on various software, hardware, and network user requests
- To take responsibility for the technical management of all ICT structures within the company to optimize functioning and keep up with new developments

Duties
- Local Area Network (LAN) set-up:
- Set up local area networks
- Checks Local Area Network on the network management system and ensures appropriate configuration, functionality, and interconnectedness on intranet and internet
- Workstation connectivity and support:
- Install the software on the system, involving the user, and customize the desktop to user requirements
- Evaluate support needs in interactions with users
- Attends to and manages helpdesk requests
- Network problem-solving services:
- Obtains delegated problems and identifies causes and effects
- Applies standard checking routines and records and rectifies what was possible
- Supports network security
- Back-up maintenance services:
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on the network, emphasizing cabling and Local Area Network connections
- Rectifies and exchanges components where required or re-configures in certain instances
- Personal Computer (PC) and printer installations:
- Set up the computer and printer as needed
- Checks all hardware parameters on the computer to ensure that the computer’s functionalities are all to specifications
- Assists with procuring ICT hardware and Equipment
- Hardware maintenance services:
- Checks records regularly and plans maintenance chores
- Identifies old, inefficient equipment and recommends replacement
- Troubleshooting services:
- Checks workstations for inefficiencies (printers, computers)
- Research failures as to causes and makes recommendations
- ERP Support:
- User support on ERP
- Escalating to stakeholders for second-level support
- Server Support
- Routine maintenance
- Server upgrades and server patching
- Ad hoc duties
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Supervisor/ Management occasionally
- Develop an understanding of the RFA’s policies and procedures
Requisites
- Qualification Requirements:
- A Diploma in Information Communication Technology or similar (NQF Level 6)
- Experience and Special Knowledge Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in Information Technology/networks/workstation support
- Valid Driver’s License is a special requirement
