Capricorn Group is recruiting an Assistant Portfolio Manager, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Assist the Chief Investment Officer with the day-to-day investment decisions, by closely monitoring investment portfolios and ensuring that the approved strategies are applied consistently
  • (SP3)
Duties
  • Analysis and execution:
  • Assist the portfolio management team in the analysis of various portfolios and securities and developing ideas and insights to improve the quality of portfolios including the achievement of superior returns, reducing risk and general improvements in portfolio construction
  • Monitor pricing and reporting on portfolios
  • Assist with credit applications to credit committee
  • Implement alignment of portfolios and mandates
  • Remain cognizant of current events at all times and interpret how they might affect the relevant portfolios
  • Effect a range of transactions for all portfolios and mandates
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Conduct client presentations and portfolio feedback sessions
  • Provision of information to media
  • Support of Investor Services sales effort
  • Economic Research:
  • Maintain key economic indicator data base
  • Preparation of historic graphs of key economic indicators to CAM Economic Meeting
  • Prepare and distribute economic research reports
  • Conduct special economic research projects
  • Act as Secretary of CAM Economic Committee

  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Experience in the Asset Management industry will be an advantage
  • Education:
  • Grade12
  • B.Com preferably in Banking, Economics, Statistics or Investment Management
  • Post-graduate qualification will be an advantage
  • The successful candidate would have already completed CFA Level 1
