Description
- The purpose of this position is to assist the finance department with accurately processing of financial information to enable business processes
- This position will report to the Finance Manager: Employee Benefits
Duties
- Responsible for processing daily and monthly financial transactions in line with procedures and within agreed timeframes, to ensure timely reconciliations and reporting
- Maintain accurately allocation of all transactions to ensure accurate month-end reporting
- Process and upload journals within agreed timeframes, in adherence to guidelines
- Provide input into monthly reconciliations and resolve any outstanding queries
- Investigate and resolve queries related to financial transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records of financial transactions processed
- Review financial data, consolidate, and report within area of responsibility
- Contribute to the audit process and resolve any audit queries within deadlines
- Adhere to financial controls and mitigate financial risks
- Processing of monthly creditors payments according to a payment schedule
- Attend to position related ad-hoc tasks that may arise
Requisites
- Academic:
- Grade 12 (minimum 25 points) with accounting as a subject
- Diploma in Financial Management or Accounting or related qualification
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years working experience in a similar position
- Experience in the financial services / Insurance industry would be a definite advantage
- Competencies:
- Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal, administration and numerical skills
- High levels of personal ethics, integrity, and emotional maturity
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Able to work well under pressure and independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
