Corporate Underwriter

Description

• The position calls for a person with strong, technical, and corporate underwriting and reinsurance expertise within the Niche environment to assist Sales and Intermediaries with quoting and underwriting support at an operational level, with a clear focus on growth, profitability, and efficiency in line with Santam Namibia’s objectives

Duties

• Administration and issuance of corporate policies on the Santam underwriting platform
• Ensuring that all documentation is processed accurately, and reinsurance is placed, if needed
• Preparation of Policy Document for signature by Head of Niche
• Completion of renewal reviews timeously and in line with underwriting and re-insurance guidelines
• Ensure legislation and regulatory changes are adhered to and implemented within the corporate underwriting environment
• Resolving and communication feedback on escalated customer queries and complaints
• Attending to daily operational underwriting tasks
• Supporting Niche Sales in acquiring and retaining profitable business

Requisites

• Qualifications and Experience:
• Grade 12 qualification with acceptable pass marks – minimum 25 points
• NQF4 Short Term Insurance Qualification
• Short term insurance qualification will be an added advantage
• 3 – 5 years’ underwriting experience within the Corporate Niche underwriting environment
• Re-insurance experience will be an added advantage
