Old Mutual is recruiting a Operations Manager, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Legal Advice: Business assurance and tax. Support the business with legal opinions and the drafting of Buy and Sell agreements
- Business Activation: Business Activation Manager to report into this role to improve efficiency of this unit
- Travelling nurse and Imeds contracting and contract management (SLAs and quality
- Appoint and develop local underwriting capability
- New business processes: define, manage and adjust servicing models for PFA and BD
- Manage internal and external new business and business support SLAs
- Alignment with regulatory requirements
- Draft and amend new business standards to support business requirements annually
- Audit and assess adherence to new business standards
- Design and advice training modules for new and existing FAs
- Annual advice refresher training sessions
- Annual product, system and advice training accreditations
- Monthly advice audits and reporting on findings
- Monthly Performance review process audits (FAs, SMs and DMs)
- Manage relationships with Risk, Compliance and Legal
- Assess and mitigate impact of new and existing legislation/regulations on products and processes
- Chair RAM AML committee
- Manage line 1 AML officer in RMM and RAM
- Test and audit AML compliance
- Design and update training modules for new and existing FAs
- Manage SLAs with internal and external service providers
- Reviewing of exiting SLAs
- Performance assessment with deliveries as stipulated by SLAs
- Identify risk events, update and report on risk log in conjunction with Risk Officer
- Quarterly risk log review with responsible Risk Officer
Requisites
- Namibian Citizen
- Relevant Degree in Finance/Commerce, B.Com / Honours in Business Administration or a relevant tertiary qualification
- 5-7 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry
- Sound business knowledge and management experience advantageous
- Strong technical & numerical skills and ability to think analytically, laterally & systematically
- The ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service levels
- Ability to guide, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure overall operational and strategic goals are met
- Must be able to plan, organize and execute tasks at an operational and strategic level
- Must have excellent operational and strategic skills in insurance product offerings
- Must be a team player and able to work independently without senior supervision
- Ability to work well under consistent pressure
