Assistant: Finance

Description

• As an Accounting Assistant at EY Namibia, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance and accounting functions of the firm
• You will work closely with the Financial Manager to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, data entry, and administrative tasks

Duties

• Financial Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software, including invoices, expenses, and payments
• Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling monthly recons
• General Ledger Maintenance: Support the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing and monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Assist with Audits: Provide necessary support during internal and external audits by preparing relevant financial information and responding to auditor inquiries
• Ad-hoc Tasks: Contribute to various ad-hoc financial and administrative tasks as assigned by the accounting team
• Namibia Revenue Agency: Prepare VAT, WHT, PAYE, Import Tax and submit on time

Requisites

• Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject
• Certificate or Diploma in Accounting will be an advantage
• Prior experience as an accounting assistant or in a similar role is advantageous, but not mandatory
• Strong Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word) essential
• Ability to managing time-based deadlines
