Security And Infrastructure Specialist

Description

• The Manica Group Namibia is seeking a passionate and experienced Security and Infrastructure Specialist to join their team in Walvis Bay
• This role provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly skilled team, reporting directly to the Group ICT Manager
• The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing, administering, and documenting key Infrastructure and Security technologies

Duties

• Act as a subject matter expert on IT infrastructure and security, fostering collaborative efforts both within and between teams
• Enhance the stability, security, and effectiveness of an organization's IT infrastructure
• Configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
• Conducting daily system monitoring, ensuring the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes
• Reviewing system and application logs, verifying completion of scheduled jobs, such as backups, and proactively identifying and addressing any issues
• Performing regular security monitoring to identify and respond to possible intrusions
• Installing new servers and rebuilding existing ones, following established installation and configuration procedures
• Researching and recommending innovative, automated approaches to streamline system administration tasks and leverage company resources effectively
• Resolve and prevent issues and problems that impact the performance, availability, and overall functionality of the IT infrastructure
• Providing periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning and conducting ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization
• Maintaining data center environmental conditions and monitoring equipment
• Configuring CPU, memory, and disk partitions as necessary
• Installing and maintaining firewall access rules and policies
• Monitoring communication links for optimal performance
• Documenting procedures and technical implementations for reference and knowledge sharing
• Identify and address potential security risks to our information security
• Implementation and management of security systems and tooling
• Contribute to security projects from inception through to completion
• Management of outsourced infrastructure services as well as service providers (3rd parties)

Requisites

• Proficiency in Microsoft Server technologies (Active Directory, Hyper-V, etc.)
• Familiarity with application & operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, penetration testing, intrusion prevention systems, and other security control systems
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of VDI and virtualization environments
• Good Knowledge of SD-WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, cabling, and switches
• Working knowledge of analysis tools and techniques including root cause analysis and requirements gathering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the business
• Namibian Citizen
• Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar
• Certifications: CAPM/Prince2, ITIL V3 Foundation & Infrastructure Systems and Equipment products
