Rössing Uranium is recruiting a Superintendent Comminution, to be based in Arandis, Namibia.
Description
- A vacancy exists for a Superintendent Comminution in the Processing Operations department, reporting to the Manager Processing Operations
- You will be responsible for leading and controlling all activities in the Comminution section in the Processing Department in such a way that legal, safety, production and people related targets are met in safe, cost-effective, and efficient manner
Duties
- Maintaining HSE standards
- Supervising and ensuring that all subordinates complete their tasks according to set plans, defining clear priorities to ensuring production continuity
- Scheduling and holding regular communication meetings with subordinates to discuss; agree and set performance targets
- Influencing and demanding service from support services to deliver on the required outputs to meet production targets
- Ensuring that all equipment and machinery maintenance are well-planned and carried out within deadlines and budgets and according to company policies
- Ensuring optimum utilization of plant equipment and people by planning and scheduling to meet production targets daily
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures and guidelines in the Comminution section
- Responsible and accountable for detailed budgeting for operations in Comminution section, inclusive of labour, material, and capital requirements
- Monitoring and controlling all costs in the comminution section, including operating, maintenance, personnel, and support costs
- Continuously assessing performance of the section against set KPl's, identify opportunities for improvements and turn it into sustainable and effective solutions
Requisites
- Grade 12 certificate with twenty (20) points
- A recognized Bachelor of Science OR Bachelor of Engineering Degree
- OR
- Bachelor of Technology in Chemical/ Metallurgical/ Mineral Processing
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering Degree: Five (5) years working experience in a hydrometallurgical processing plant, of which three (3) years should be in a supervisory position
- Bachelor of Technology Degree: Seven (7) years working experience in a hydrometallurgical processing plant, which three (3) years should be in a supervisory position
- National Diplomas: Ten (10) years working experience in a hydrometallurgical processing plant, which five (5) years should be in a supervisory/specialised level
- A valid Code B driver’s license
- A police certificate of conduct not older than six months is required
- A record will not automatically disqualify candidates
