Swakop Uranium is recruiting a Planner: Field, in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Description
- Responsible for the short term maintenance planning in terms of planning, resourcing, scheduling and co-ordination of maintenance work for maintaining and enhancing equipment reliability, using the most cost-effective methods to minimize risk and rework in the area of responsibility
Duties
- Coordinate and execute technical details of various production or service aspects including testing, planning, and execution phases
- Ensure that all safety and quality standards are adhered to at all times
- Set technical standards and specifications for maintainers, contractors and suppliers, including the management of contractors
- Develop Standard Work Procedures and technical work instructions
- Carry out equipment inspections, draw up short term (weekly) maintenance requirement in order to optimize engineering down time
- Coordinate the maintenance, inspection and repair of related equipment in area of responsibility under repair with service providers
- Review weekly maintenance performance reports and equipment repair history and recommend and implement technical corrective action to optimize plant reliability in support of production throughput ratio
- Coordinate and order spares, tools and required components in conjunction with the Maintenance Planner, suppliers and contractors, in order to optimize downtime
- Control and record the receipt of new parts, components and equipment, by checking for compliance to specifications
- Perform troubleshooting, and fault finding on various technical equipment to ensure corrective action is implemented and related continuous improvement documentation is driven
- Ensure adequate knowledge transfer from training done or vendors to affect future maintenance in compliance with OEM or better standards
- Monitor and coordinates the activities of all subsystems, and is responsible for the overall technical performance, of week ZERO maintenance execution in terms of planned and unplanned maintenance
- Liaise with all Team Leaders and other stakeholders regarding job progress
- Perform downtime analysis to ensure continuous improvements
- Review new installations, alternative requirement analysis if needed and base compatibility review and reports compliance to Reliability section
Requisites
- Grade 12 with 20 points over 5 subjects
- Recognized N3 Trade Certificate in relevant field
- Minimum 5 years post trade maintenance experience in the mining industry, of which 2 years should be in the short term maintenance planning environment
- Sound knowledge and experience in Standard Work Procedures and technical work instructions
- Basic CMMS experience and SAP Maintenance or maintenance related systems
- Good understanding of standards and specifications for equipment and spares
- Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License
