Project Manager

Description

• Namdeb Diamond Corporation invites interested individuals to be part of alluvial mining operations that offer unique challenges for professionals who wish to be part of a world-class operation

Duties

• The Project Manager: Sustainability contributes to building on Namdeb’s positive legacy and ensuring that its sustainability ambitions are integrated into its business strategy through the identification and successful implementation of appropriate initiatives and translating it into a sustainable impact for all stakeholders through management of change process
• The incumbent takes accountability at an operational level for the planning and delivery of assigned projects/scopes of work

Requisites

• Degree in a relevant Mining discipline, Sustainability, Environmental, and/or any appropriate degree linked to the appropriate experience
• Project management certification or proven record of project management experience
• Eight (8) years post graduate relevant experience of which three (3) years on managerial level in one of the core disciplines with project management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with MS Projects
• Experience in mine closure (e.g., AA MCT) and social performance planning (e.g., AA SW3.0) will be an added advantage
• Competencies:

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to function well in a multi-disciplinary team

• Strong analytical ability and business acumen are critical
• Ability to build process improvement and best–practice cultural change across the organization by applying advanced lean thinking principles
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple stakeholders
• Motivated with the ability to perform in a demanding environment
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills including at senior levels
