Agra is recruiting a Manager: Provision, in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The successful incumbent will be based at Corporate Office and report to the Chief Executive Officer
Duties
- Management of ProVision Division:
- Pro-actively plan, develop, obtains approval from CEO, implement, monitor and adjusts the strategic plan for ProVision
- Aligns the ProVision strategy with Agra’s overall capacity building strategy (internal & external stakeholders)
- Unlock potential of ProVision by increasing revenue streams in line with Agra’s overall strategic objectives
- Ensures Agra ProVision’s contribution to Agra’s overall profitability
- Ensures effective budget planning, obtains approval from CEO, controls and manages the ProVision budget
- Implements, manage and monitor operating policies and procedures within ProVision
- Pro-active engagement with relevant stakeholders (marketing & sales) and providing feedback to management and senior management
- Ensures effective planning, co-ordinating and managing all activities occurring within the department, delegating tasks and setting deadlines, initiating frequent monitoring, evaluation and assessments of such activities
- Ensures effective and efficient people management and development (workforce planning, recruitment and selection, induction, performance management, succession planning, talent retention, discipline
- Conducts monthly monitoring, evaluation and assessment meetings regarding ProVision team performance and activities
- Pro-Actively liaising with other Agra divisions, departments and experts to draw on Agra’s expertise whenever needed
- Any other operationally required tasks
- Teaching and Capacity building:
- Pro-actively plans, executes, and evaluates a variety of revenue generating capacity building initiatives both within and outside of Agra
- Perform frequent training needs analysis both within and outside of Agra and adjust training strategies accordingly
- Ensures substantive growth by strategically positioning ProVision to increase candidate numbers and to attract new candidates to short-courses and to the Agra Agricultural Academy of Namibia (a3N)
- Networking and cross-selling:
- Position ProVision as the Agricultural Industry market leader in the provision of innovative training solutions to various stakeholders, such as the Namibian Government, Farming Community, Corporate Businesses, Investors, Suppliers, Educational Institutions & Donors
Requisites
- Namibian citizenship
- Relevant qualification (e.g. Agriculture, Business Administration, Commerce, Education or Marketing)
- A degree in business or management or similar field serves as an advantage
- Minimum 10 years of management experience (capacity building, training, budget planning and people management)
- Ideally, the jobholder should have significant experience in both agriculture and management, as a minimum, however, significant expertise in one of the areas is required
- Should have a proven track record of managing a successful business/division.
- Proficiency in English
- Computer literacy
- A valid driver’s license
