Agra is recruiting an Assistant Accountant: Credit Control (Auctions), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The successful incumbent will be based at Corporate Office and report to the Accountant: Debtors & Treasury
Duties
- Establishes and maintains an up-to-date database of debtors information with special emphasis on constant updating of credit limits, information and guarantees
- Implements and maintains an effective credit control system and credit policies
- Communicates overdue debtors on a monthly basis to the Auctions department
- Managing debtors accounts:
- Sends out collection (reminders/warning) letters to clients
- Freezing of accounts
- Closing of accounts
- Decreasing/ increasing credit limits
- Identifying possible bad-debts, get written consent to proceed with legal action, instructing attorneys and monitoring of process
- Liaises with attorneys on a frequent basis to collect bad debts
- Attends to enquires from Auctions on temporary credit limits and other debtors’ enquiries
- Deals with claims of outstanding accounts against deceased estates
- Processes new debtors applications:
- Conducts a full credit check
- Liaises with banks and credit bureau’s
- Notifies clients of the outcome
Requisites
- Namibian citizenship
- A Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum 5 years experience in a debtors department, specifically on legal collections processes, debtor administration and management
- Computer literacy (Sage X3 & MS Office with specific regard to Excel)
- Proficiency in English
- Valid drivers licence
