Swakop Uranium is hiring a Geologist: Resources, in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Description
- To carry out the fieldwork necessary for exploration and resource mapping, geophysical and geochemical surveys, sampling and drilling programs
Duties
- Locate and determine the nature and extent of mineralisation using geological and geophysical data sets to forecast where mineral occurrences can be explored
- Utilize geological software packages to process field data with the aim of generating and refining exploration targets
- Assess extent and quality of mineralisation and present reports for strategic decision making
- Execute exploration drilling and mapping projects
- Delineate the ore resources for life of mine purposes
- Provide periodic progress reports
Requisites
- BSc. Honours Degree in Geology or similar qualification in Geology
- 3 years’ experience as a Resource/Exploration Geologist in uranium exploration environment
- Experience in the execution of resource and exploration drilling programmes
- Experience in logging drill core and RC chips and producing quality drill hole logs
- Experience in field mapping and surveys as well as compilation of quality geological maps and reports
- Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License. (4x4 driving know how an added advantage)
