DBSchenker is recruiting a Logistics Field Sales Representative, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Reporting To: Head of Departments of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Land Transport
- Position Accountabilities:
- Offering/implementing innovative business solutions in line with KPl's set and interim servicing and monitoring of service-provision to new accounts
- Develop and prepare a business plan for sales to increase market share, taking cognisance of opportunities and market conditions
collecting and analyzing customer, market and competitor information in order to develop an ongoing pipeline
- Coordinating marketing activity with others and improving lead generation
- Identify market opportunities and potential clients/prospects while developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve new
business sales targets and results
- Negotiating sales deals with existing and potential customers on a regular basis to grow the National & International Freight Forwarding and Logistics in all 3 modes of transport - Land Transport, Ocean & Air Freight, including, Clearing, Forwarding on Imports & Exports market share
- Ensure through partnership with cross-functional and specialization teams the creation of sales product solutions to meet customer needs
- Communicate with Inbound and outbound operations and management regarding customer enquiries
- Ensure client records are kept up to date in master files and on CRM System, with accurate information as per ISO9001
- Preparation of proposals, profiles, presentations, new business estimates and business development reports
- Continuous development of industry and product knowledge to provide logistics solutions to meet customer needs
- Effective use of organisational resources to achieve desired results
- Increase confidence in and the reputation of the business in respect of any and all stakeholders by driving brand awareness and loyalty
Requisites
- To be successful in the above role, the incumbent should possess and be able to display the following Key Performance skills & indicators:
- Knowledge, understanding & insight into Business Development & Sales processes
- Knowledge and insight of incoterms is very important
- 5 years relevant Industry experience - Logistics, Transport and Supply chain, Freight forwarding
- Degree or Diploma relevant to the Logistics & Supply chain Industry
- At least 5 years' experience in a solutions, sales and key account management capacity in Logistics or Supply chain
- Be in possession of a valid Driver Code B license as this person will travel extensively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent business acumen
- Must have a sense of urgency and the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to maintain professionalism and corporate standards at all times
- Advanced computer literacy,i.e. Ms Office: Word, Excel,PowerPoint
- Administrative skills to maintain a high level of Internal Company IT Systems
