Nampost is recruiting a Corporate Communication Officer, to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Primary purpose of position: Reporting to the Manager Marketing & Corporate Communication, the
incumbent will provide input to the development of communication strategies, integrated public relations and marketing programs, and subsequent implementation thereof in support of specific strategic objectives, Works in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the brand remains relevant to customers and that all initiatives support the brand promise and deliver financial targets
Duties
- Develop/Review and implement corporate communication strategies
and policies that will enhance the image of the company
- Develop and execute internal communication activities which involve,
engage and inform employees, utilizing appropriate communication tools
- Participate in the design of a creative and effective Digital Strategy
including content management for NamPost’ Social Media platforms and website
- Assist in identifying stakeholders needs and propose relevant engagement activities
- Respond to complaints and organization issues from members of the
public
- Write a variety of communications (e.g media releases, newsletters,
advertorials, etc.) for the purpose of keeping the media and public
informed of the activities of NamPost
- Coordinate the completion, printing and distribution of corporate
collateral
- Assist and conduct research and utilize data in the analysis and evaluation of information for preparation of reports and presentations
- Coordinate Corporate Social Responsibility and Sponsorships initiatives
- Organize and oversee corporate events (special events, trade
shows/exhibitions and any other ad-hoc events)
Requisites
- Educational Qualification and Experience Requirements
- A relevant Bachelors Degree in Public Relations/Media Studies/or Journalism
- A Public Relations or Communications accreditation with a recognized
institution is a distinct advantage
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Corporate Communications or Journalism
- Knowledge and experience of Graphic Design programmes and Digital Media Management
- Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Knowledge of integrated communication and marketing concepts and
projects
- Fluency in verbal and written English
- Knowledge and fluency of additional local languages would be a distinct advantage
- Good understanding and experience of Retail, Financial Services, Mail & Logistics would be a distinct advantage
- Computer literate and able to work on all Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of designing programmes (e.g Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe XD)
Journalistic, enquiring mind and excellent ability to interview
- Strong presentation and writing skills
- Ability to work methodically, meet deadlines and multitasking skills
- High level of conceptual thinking ability and analytical skills
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work on crossfunctional teams
- Other:
- Code BE Driving License
- Willingness to travel frequently
