Hangana Seafood is recruiting an Assistant Marine Electrician (m/f), to be based in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Description
- To install and repair all electrical equipment on the vessels to ensure that they are well maintained and remain in a good working condition at all times under the supervision of the Marine Electrician
Duties
- Electrical repairs and maintenance onboard the Vessels
- Inspect machinery for possible defects
- Repair and do maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Collect new parts from the workshop or Stores upon authorization by the Marine Electrician
- Replace defected electrical equipment and devices
- Test equipment to ensure effective functioning after repairs
- Disconnection and reconnection of all small motors
- Remove and install small motors
- Removal and Replacement of Light Fittings
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
- Check that electricity safety, Health and Safety procedures are adhered to
- Strapping of Electrical Cables
- Changing of Electrical Bulbs
Requisites
- Grade 12 (with pass marks in English and Mathematics)
- 2-3 years’ experience in a marine environment/fishing Industry
