The Food and Agriculture Organization is recruiting a National Agricultural Census Specialist (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- The Specialist will support the development of the Namibia Census of Agriculture Project Document, which will be one of the guiding documents of the National Agriculture Census. Specifically the Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Namibia National Statistics Agency (NSA) in assessing the situation in situ, engage stakeholders and contributing to the preparation of a census project document
Duties
- Assist the ICC in review of existing documentation and compilation of relevant documents, including institutional arrangements, legislation, resource requirements, work plan, availability of national budget and possible funding sources
- Assist in assessing the technical capacity in place and technical assistance needs for census preparation and implementation, including training and other capacity building activities
- Contribute and assist the ICC in the preparation of the census concept note and drafts of project document
- Assist the ICC in the ongoing consultation with stakeholders
- Assist in the preparation and facilitation national workshop to present and validate the draft census project document
- Assist in the finalization of the census project document
- Undertake any other related activity
- Prepare an end of mission report
Requisites
- A degree in statistics or economics
- A minimum five years’ experience some of which in the agricultural sector
- Working knowledge of English
- National or Resident of Namibia
