GIPF is recruiting a Manager: Treasury (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Duties
- Manage the performance of the in-house investment portfolios
- Manage the money market and fixed-income portfolios
- Responsible for the management of the counterparty/Issuer’s relationship
- Oversee and manage the dealing and trading desk
- Ensure that the Treasury investment process is in place and regularly updated
- Ensure adherence to the Treasury mandate
- Oversee timely execution of the investment transactions
- Assist the General Manager with the review and implementation of the Investment Policy
- Ensure the Treasury unit continuously manage and assess un-invested cash
- Responsible for the risk and compliance management in the unit
Requisites
- A degree in Accounting; Commerce; Finance, Economics or Business Sciences (NQA level 8)
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the banking or Portfolio - Management environment with at least
- Five (5) years of Treasury experience in a Senior Portfolio Management role
- A Certificate in CFA or ACI dealing will be added advantage
- The incumbent must have the following knowledge, skills, and attributes:
- Knowledge & Understanding of: Namibian-, Regional- and Global fixed income market, financial statement analysis and modelling, company valuation and valuation of fixed interest securities, how National
- Development Plans dictate the government borrowing plan
- How local-regional and global macro-economic factors drive asset prices, pension fund legislation, and relevant systems to execute investment transactions
- Skills: Analytical, interpersonal, supervisory, presentation, report writing, and negotiation
- Personal Attributes: Integrity, professionalism, detail-conscious, calm disposition, independent thinker, emotional- and intercultural intelligence, business ethics, and service-oriented
